About The Trust

With a humble motto of “Simply Giving What We Have, Simply Doing What We Can”, Lady of Light Charitable Trust has been working for sustainable development since July 2016.
Even before the formal registration of the Trust, the founding members were working for various social causes in their native place Amroha, U.P., India. They are closely connected with the grass root level as well as educated population in and around Amroha District.
The Trust runs education programmes for financial adoption of selected students and their admission to English Medium/ CBSE schools. For willing and eligible candidates, support is extended in the form of coaching classes in Delhi for preparation of Competitive Exams.
Besides, a program on waste management through women empowerment has been successfully running since 2016 named “AmrohaSay”. Amroha is one of the cotton waste hubs in North India. The Trust has a vision to create eco-friendly alternative ways of its disposal. Besides, a large female population is also involved in bidi-wrapping. We have a vision to pull out vulnerable women from unhealthy bidi-wrapping vocation and enable them with alternative source of living. Currently, at a small scale, 30 local women including a few erstwhile bidi-wrappers, are trained to apply traditional and modern art skills to recycle the fabric waste and create reusable utility items like handbags and home décor items. During pandemic, the team has made more than 18,000 cotton masks for keeping the show on. Visit www.amrohasay.com for details.
Other activities include organising Medical camps in association with medical practitioners, women hygiene and health awareness camps, career counselling programmes through tie-ups with Corporates and after-school tuition support for not-so-privileged students.
The Trust is registered under Indian Trusts Act, 1882 and has exemption under Section 12AB of Income Tax Act, 1961.

Vision

We envisage a world where each person works towards their self-development, helps fellow beings and conserves the environment. We, as selfless warriors, want to lend a helping hand to lead human beings into a world of consciousness where they discover their inherent potential, create opportunities for themselves as well as others and feel responsible towards the environment

Mission

We believe in “Simply Giving What We Have, Simply Doing What We Can”.
Being in the corporate sector, whatever knowledge we have gained there will be shared with the local people and blended with their existing knowledge and talents to create synergies which may be utilized to bring about a change in the ecosystem. Moreover, we have a substantial network of professionals who can be tied up for volunteering on various subject matters. Local level talents can be harnessed and scaled up through professional counseling on pro-bono basis or otherwise.
